Michael Morehead, associate dean in the College of Education, has been an educator since 1971. His experiences include teaching at the middle- and high-school level and serving as an administrator in secondary schools. Morehead has held positions in higher education at three universities and is a recognized scholar in teacher education. His primary research involves teacher education, program quality, student internships and accreditation. Morehead has been involved extensively with K-12 education throughout his career and has been instrumental in establishing linkages and outreach initiatives that foster collaboration between higher education and public schools. In the last three years, Morehead has been instrumental in establishing the Alliance for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning ? a collaborative among New Mexico State University, K-12 education and other agencies that support teaching and learning in New Mexico. This collaborative has been assisting schools in meeting the requirements outlined in No Child Left Behind.

Rowlison is the program coordinator for the online special education alternative licensure program. Previously, she was Assistant Superintendent for the Lordsburg Municipal Schools and a regional technical assistance provider for the Southwest Regional Educational Center (REC) #10. She has taught at Western New Mexico University and the University of Texas at El Paso as well as the Gadsden Independent School District and Las Cruces Public School District.

associate professor of educational management and development, is offering a course for future school administrators focusing on using data to guide leadership strategies. The course is a new offering resulting from a need to prepare future administrators to effectively deal with No Child Left Behind requirements. Humada-Ludeke's research includes examining the changing roles of leadership, culturally responsive leadership, the changing role of higher education in collaborative partnerships and K-12 preparation programs, and the implications of local, state and federal policy initiatives. Prior to entering higher education, she served as a principal at a large urban school involved in school reform initiatives, allowing her to gain first-hand experience in the multitude of inequitable conditions threatening to marginalize many students in large urban schools.
