Patrick Mendoza is the administrative assistant for the College of Health and Social Services and has been a staff member at New Mexico State University for two years. His responsibilities include directing visitors to their destination, answering phones, keeping inventory of items in the college, completing the Space Survey for the college and more.

“The best thing about working at CHSS is working with the great staff in the dean’s office,” Mendoza said. “They treat me fair and are very respectable to me which makes the work environment great. I see how hard each of them works and it motivates me to stay at their level of professionalism.”

On top of his work for the college, Mendoza stays pretty busy. Mendoza is taking advantage of the Employee & Spouse/Domestic Partner Tuition program by completing his master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education. Mendoza has taught for the Advocacy at Work program and taught public health classes to Las Cruces High School students last fall. He coaches eighth grade boys basketball and eighth grade boys and girls track at Zia Middle School. He also helps out with the NMSU Student Foundation.
