Course Development Institute applications due Jan. 19

Applications are being accepted for the for the Online Course Improvement Program Spring 2018 Course Development Institute. This five-month program is open to Las Cruces-campus faculty and staff developing an online course. CDI is similar to the 1Yr+ Fellowship and New2Online Program that OCIP has offered for many years, but is a slightly shorter, cohort-based program with an emphasis on meeting the 6.55 Distance Education Rule. Still based largely on participating in professional development and one-on-one mentoring, CDI is here to help faculty design courses that will meet an Internal Quality Matters Review (NMSU-LC’s online course quality metric).

Participants with a course that meets an Internal QM Review by May 11 will receive a stipend. For more information on the cohort days and times or to apply, please visit the OCIP website at https://ocip.nmsu.edu/cdi/. The application closes at noon Jan. 19. Participants will be notified by 5 p.m. Jan. 19 of their acceptance.

Orientation for the Tuesday Cohort will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 23 and orientation for the Friday/Hybrid cohort will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Jan. 26. If you have any questions, please contact Miley Grandjean at mgrandje@nmsu.edu or call 575-646-5492.
