NMSU career track program nationally recognized by USDA magazine


As a first-generation college student at New Mexico State University, Alexa Martinez was lost when it came to picking a major. She started off as an engineering major, but later found her way to the Department of Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Ecology. Through the department in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, Martinez had the opportunity to be in the Southwest Natural Resource Career Track program, where she found her new home.

NMSU Manager Certification Program scheduled for 2018: applications now being accepted

The Manager Certification Program (MCP) is a unique opportunity for you to build critical management-level knowledge, skills and competencies required to efficiently and effectively carry out the functions of managing employees and departments in support of the NMSU mission, vision, and values. The MCP is a year-long program for NMSU staff currently in a supervisory or higher level management position or those who are on a career path to move into a supervisory or manager position. Bannister named NMSU associate vice president for marketing, communications

Justin Bannister has been appointed associate vice president for Marketing and Communications at New Mexico State University. He had served as the interim associate vice president for the previous year.

“Justin is the consummate team player and his positive attitude is always uplifting,” said Andrea Tawney, NMSU’s vice president for university advancement and marketing and communications.

As associate vice president, Bannister oversees all marketing, media relations and university broadcasting operations and leads the planning and execution of NMSU’s marketing and advertising budget to support student recruitment and alumni participation efforts.
