NMSU, NM WRRI researchers join others to help address water scarcity issues

Southeastern New Mexico is facing water scarcity issues, and with an increased demand for freshwater, there is a need for alternative water sources in Eddy and Lea counties.

Faculty and staff from New Mexico State University and the New Mexico Water Resources Research Institute teamed up with researchers from around the state for a feasibility study on the reuse of produced water last year.

NMSU Manager Certification Program scheduled for 2018: applications now being accepted

The Manager Certification Program (MCP) is a unique opportunity for you to build critical management-level knowledge, skills and competencies required to efficiently and effectively carry out the functions of managing employees and departments in support of the NMSU mission, vision, and values. The MCP is a year-long program for NMSU staff currently in a supervisory or higher level management position or those who are on a career path to move into a supervisory or manager position. Applications for the 2018 program will be accepted from Dec. 11 through Jan. 14. Learn more about MCP and apply at http://training.nmsu.edu/leadership/mcp.

Thomas Rhett, Brett Young, Jillian Jacqueline to perform at Pan American Center

The ACM Male Vocalist of the Year, Thomas Rhett, brings his “Life Changes Tour” to the NMSU Pan American Center in Las Cruces at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 7. Joining Rhett will be special guests Brett Young and Jillian Jacqueline. Rhett scored his first No. 1 hit in 2013 with “It Goes Like This” and has since reached that spot on the country airplay charts an additional eight times. Young also reached No. 1 status on the chart with his hit, “In Case You Didn’t Know.”

Retirement reception for Donny Grooms to be held Dec. 20

Join the staff of KRWG in bidding a fond farewell to Donny Grooms with a cake-a-thon in TV Studio B, Milton Hall. Grooms has served as a KRWG Development Officer for the past 13 years with multiple facets to his position. He was in charge of TV membership drives, event planning, sold underwriting, worked with individual donors, been on air during FM membership drives and helped put out fires large and small. Please drop by from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec 20 to share in some cake and wish Grooms the best for this new chapter in his life.
