Greg Fant, assistant dean of development for the New Mexico State University College of Arts and Sciences, has been appointed interim dean of the college.
His promotion is effective Sept. 1.
Current Dean Waded Cruzado-Salas was promoted to provost and executive vice president, a change that also will take effect Sept. 1.
Robert Moulton, dean of the College of Education whose term as interim provost and executive vice president ended Aug. 31, said several nominees could have filled the position and the choice was difficult to make, but Fant was picked because he has "a very healthy mix of talents that will help him to succeed and carry forward the vision and the leadership."
"He will keep us moving, keep the momentum going that Dr. Cruzado-Salas and her team started four years ago," Moulton said.
