Workshop to help teachers implement science and engineering in the classroom

Middle and high school teachers will learn how to identify and implement science and engineering practices using graphing calculators in a hands-on workshop. Implementing Science and Engineering Practices with TI-Nspire Technology will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, through Friday, Aug. 2, on the NMSU Las Cruces campus.

Workshop goals are guided by the Next Generation Science Standards, with a focus on technology, engineering and mathematics. This short-course is sponsored by the Engineering New Mexico Resource Network at New Mexico State University, in cooperation with Texas Instruments.

The cost is $350. A limited number of $300 scholarships will be available to New Mexico teachers. The scholarship application deadline is July 15; to register or fill out a scholarship application, please visit http://www.engr.nmsu.edu/outreach_tinspire.shtml.
