NMSU offers course to help teachers implement science and engineering in the classroom

The Engineering New Mexico Resource Network at New Mexico State University, in cooperation with Texas Instruments, is offering Implementing Science and Engineering Practices with TI-Nspire Technology for middle and high school teachers. This course will be held 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 31 through Friday, Aug. 2, on the NMSU Las Cruces campus.


The course goals are to explore strategies for identifying, implementing and mutually reinforcing science and engineering practices using TI-Nspire technology. Instructional strategies and learning outcomes are guided by the Next Generation Science Standards, with a focus on technology, engineering and mathematics.

The cost is $350; a limited number of $300 scholarships will be available to New Mexico teachers. The scholarship application deadline is Saturday, June 1.
