NMSU's McKinley County Extension to host holiday craft night

GALLUP, N.M. - Making holiday memories is the theme for the 2012 Holiday Craft Showcase hosted by New Mexico State University's McKinley County Extension Service from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at the Jim Harlin Community Pantry, 1130 Hassler Valley Road, Gallup.

"Homemade gifts are often the treasures we hold near and dear to our hearts. Some are even passed from generation to generation," said Elena Bowers, McKinley County Extension home economist.

"Last year we had a great turnout at our first 'Make and Take' workshop in Gallup. This season we will share six new simple crafts that you can make with your family and friends. It's a great way to make the holidays special."

Extension home economists from Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance, McKinley and Cibola counties will lead a variety of craft activities. Crafts will include a variety of Christmas ornaments and decorations, including a candy tray made from candy mints.

Cost is $10 per person. RSVP to participate by calling 505-863-3432.
