Business service company CEO to present NMSU entrepreneurship lecture

The Verge Fund Lecture Series in Innovation, Ventures and Entrepreneurship, hosted by the New Mexico State University College of Engineering, will feature Aaron Garcia, chief executive officer of SiliconMesa Corporation and NMSU engineering alumnus. Garcia's lecture, Owning Your Own Career, will be held Friday, April 20 at 3:30 p.m. in Jett Hall Room 283. The lecture is free and open to all.

SiliconMesa is a Las Cruces-based business service company that provides cloud-based software and secure data storage solutions for targeted business segments. The company's management team includes seven leaders with extensive professional experience in leading-edge data center architecture and security, software development, systems engineering, information technology, and consumer electronics integration.

SiliconMesa's primary data center operations are located at the Arrowhead Research Park on the campus of New Mexico State University. It is the only fully certified electronic health records provider located in New Mexico or West Texas.

Garcia brings 18 years of experience with Intel Corporation, where he held various senior technical leadership and management positions in engineering, operations, technology development, technology transfer, factory startup and high-volume production ramp across Intel's microprocessor, chipset, wireless, and non-volatile memory business. Garcia served as factory manager at Intel's largest computer chip fabrication plant, Fab11X, where he was responsible for overall technology transfer, factory startup and production ramp of Intel's latest 32nm process technology including Intel Xeon, Core and Atom processors.

Garcia received a bachelor's in electrical and computer engineering from New Mexico State University.
