The latest installment in the award-winning "Senator Pete Domenici's Legacy" book series is now on store shelves.
The book, edited by Vicki Taggart, chronicles the proceedings from the 2010 Pete V. Domenici Public Policy Conference, which took place at New Mexico State University's Corbett Center. NMSU also is the home of the Pete V. Domenici Institute.
This year's "Senator Pete Domenici's Legacy" offers transcripts of presentations made by every speaker at the 2010 conference, including the rollicking debate between Karl Rove, former deputy chief of staff and senior adviser to former President George W. Bush, and Joe Lockhart, a former presidential press secretary in the Clinton Administration. Veteran ABC News contributor Sam Donaldson moderated the debate.
The first "Senator Pete Domenici's Legacy" book, released in 2009, won the New Mexico Book Awards' best anthology prize. The awards, presented by the New Mexico Book Co-op, recognize the best books by New Mexico authors and publishers. The second "Legacy" book, published last year, was a finalist in the best political book category at the 2010 New Mexico Book Awards.
As with previous installments in the series, the latest volume is published by Rio Grande Books in collaboration with New Mexico State University. The book is available online through Rio Grande Books at www.riograndebooks.com, and at Barnes & Noble stores and website, www.bn.com.
The 2011 Pete V. Domenici Public Policy Conference takes place Aug. 31-Sept. 1 at the Las Cruces Convention Center. This year's conference will address the nation's debt crisis, national security and health care.
