LAS CRUCES - Multimedia developer John "C.C." Chamberlin has returned to New Mexico State University's agricultural communications department, where he will lead programming and Web development.
"It's my job to keep an eye on the technology we're using and help us look ahead," said Chamberlin, formerly a systems programmer for the department for eight years.
Since 2000, Chamberlin had been senior multimedia developer at ExploreLearning.com, an educational software and online textbook provider based in Charlottesville, Va.
"ExploreLearning was a dot-com startup that grew from three people working off the owner's porch into a company of 16 to 18 people," he said. "As a former math instructor, I enjoyed developing gizmos, Web-based modules that illustrate math concepts, for teachers to use in the classroom."
From 1992 to 2000 at NMSU, Chamberlin worked on multimedia projects and 3-D animation for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, FBI and Smithsonian, among others. His multimedia and video game design won best of class awards from his peers in Agricultural Communicators in Education.
He holds bachelor's degrees in English and math and a master's degree in pure mathematics, all from NMSU.
