LAS CRUCES - Growing and marketing specialty crops from berries to zucchini will be the focus of an April 5 conference in Santa Fe.
The conference begins at 8:15 a.m. at Cooperative Extension Service facilities on the Santa Fe County Fairgrounds at 3229 Rodeo Road. Registration is $5 before March 17 and $10 thereafter.
"Extension specialists and experienced growers will give presentations on producing grapes, raspberries and blackberries; processing and marketing specialty crops; and controlling diseases and insects," said George Dickerson, Extension horticulture specialist with New Mexico State University.
Other presenters will cover greenhouse production, drip irrigation and growth-enhancing techniques such as using row covers and plastic mulches.
