LAS CRUCES -- Managers of recreational turf areas will learn about composting, controlling weeds and avoiding common irrigation problems at the Southwest Turfgrass Association Conference Oct. 20-23 at the Ruidoso Convention and Civic Events Center.
This annual conference provides continuing education for creating and maintaining safe, healthy turf in parks and golf courses. The event is sponsored by the Southwest Turfgrass Association and New Mexico State University's Cooperative Extension Service.
A trade show and seminars on professionalism, pesticide safety and reconstructing golf greens will round out the program. Attendees also can participate in a golf tournament at the Inn of the Mountain Gods in Ruidoso.
Conference registration is $130. This fee includes annual membership in the Southwest Turfgrass Association and a copy of the conference proceedings. The golf tournament registration is an additional $45.
