Engineering dean candidates to visit campus

Robert Rhodes, chair of New Mexico State University's College of Engineering dean search committee, has announced that five candidates have been invited for interviews and campus visits in mid-January. Following an extensive search process, those invited for campus visits include:


•Pius Egbelu, professor of industrial engineering at Louisiana State University, former dean of the National Science Foundation Academy and former dean of engineering at Louisiana State University;

•Neil Gallagher, vice president for research at Savant-Garde LLC, and former dean of engineering at the University of Central Florida and Colorado State University;

•Ricardo Jacquez, NMSU's interim associate provost for academic affairs and community colleges and professor of civil engineering;

•Krishna Kavi, director for the NSF Net-Centric Software and Systems Industry/University Cooperative Research Center and professor in computer science and engineering at the University of North Texas; and

•Debra Larson, associate dean for the College of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences at Northern Arizona University and a professor of civil engineering.

"I believe that the committee has successfully selected five outstanding candidates to lead the College of Engineering and its diverse teaching and research activities," Rhodes said. "We look forward to having these candidates on campus in mid-January and encourage faculty, staff, students and alumni to actively participate in the candidate interviews."
