NMSU Bernalillo County Extension, Sanchez Farm hosts high-value vegetable production workshop

ALBUQUERQUE - Join your neighbors and friends to learn about high value vegetable production in a hands-on community workshop sponsored by Bernalillo County Extension Service and the Sanchez Farm in Albuquerque's South Valley.

Ron Walser, urban farm specialist from New Mexico State University's Agricultural Science Center in Los Lunas, will instruct participants in variety selection, planting, drip irrigation and organic weed control and fertilization.

The workshop will begin at 9 a.m. at the Sanchez Farm County Open Space beside the Atrisco Drain in the South Valley, east of Isleta Boulevard on Arenal Road, or south of Isleta Boulevard on Lopez Road. Lopez ends at the farm.

Participants will have a chance to get their hands dirty so they are encouraged to wear work clothes.
