Festival to highlight NMSU New Student Orientations

A community picnic and information fair will highlight the series of orientations for new students and transfer students at New Mexico State University this summer. The first program will run June 7-8.

"They can become familiar with the clubs, organizations, programs, departments and people in our community that all contribute to NMSU."

The two-day event, held primarily in the Corbett Center Student Union, will begin with check-in at 12:45 p.m. Students taking the Math Placement Exam should arrive at 11 a.m. Informative sessions for new students and parents will run from 1:15 to 5:45 p.m.

The University Community Festival will begin at 6 p.m. and will include food, sunset campus tours, raffles and an opportunity to meet with NMSU faculty.

The Union Program Council will sponsor a late evening program from 9-11 p.m. for the new students.

Day two will be from 8 a.m.-noon and will include additional student and parent sessions, and advising and registration for incoming students.
