Southwestern New Mexico Regional Science and Engineering Fair at NMSU accepting applications

The College of Engineering at New Mexico State University is accepting applications for the 2019 Southwestern New Mexico Regional Science and Engineering Fair. The event is set for March 1-2, with judging on March 2.

The deadline for project submissions is Friday, Feb. 15. There is no charge to participate in the Southwestern New Mexico Regional Science and Engineering Fair.

The fair offers two divisions: the junior division is for middle-school students (sixth through eighth grade) and the senior division for high-school students (ninth through 12th grade).

The Science Fair is one in a series of events culminating in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, Arizona. Students who place in the regional fair at NMSU will compete at the New Mexico Science and Engineering Fair in Socorro. The students who qualify for the international competition will have the opportunity to challenge their top-ranked peers from around the world.

Hosted by the Engineering New Mexico Resource Network, part of the College of Engineering, the event is held on the NMSU Las Cruces campus and is affiliated with the Society for Science and the Public and the International Science and Engineering Fair.
