NMSU’s Marketing and Communications team recognized at creative competitions

New Mexico State University’s Marketing and Communications office has received multiple awards this year, recognizing its work in campaigns to market the university.

“This is all about praising the hard work that the team puts in,” said Melissa Chavira, NMSU’s director of marketing and web communications. “We have an incredibly talented team and this is an opportunity for us to recognize their efforts in marketing the university.”

The team earned multiple recognitions from the 2018 MarCom Awards. NMSU’s work was recognized in the area of print media publications with a gold award for Explore-NMSU Undergraduate Viewbook. The team also received an honorable mention for the Aggie Experience invitation. Additionally, Randle Dominguez, who works for NMSU’s Athletics Department, won a gold award for her work designing the can and packaging for Pistol Pete’s 1888 Ale, from Bosque Brewing Company.

The MarCom Awards are an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. The award competition is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. This is the third consecutive year that NMSU has won multiple MarCom Awards.

NMSU’s marketing team also received a gold DotCOMM award in the category of social media marketing for Snapchat story bursts: social brand awareness campaign using six second advertisements.

The DotCOMM awards are an international competition honoring excellence in web creativity and digital communication. The competition recognizes the significance of creativity and its power to transform the way products are communicated and marketed.
