The theme for NMSU’s Homecoming this October is “A Moment in Time,” in honor of NMSU’s 130-year anniversary.

The theme, celebrating NMSU’s 130-year anniversary, was created by a partnership between the Associated Students of New Mexico State University and the NMSU Office of Alumni Relations.

Starting Homecoming week, NMSU will host various events and gatherings, ending with the Homecoming football game Saturday, Oct. 6, against the Liberty University Flames.

Homecoming activities will include reunions for classes celebrating their 10, 25, 30, 40, 50 and 60-year reunions along with the Homecoming game day parade; the Celebration of Traditions Memorial Ceremony event honoring fallen Aggie military veterans; the Golden A’s luncheon and the Aggie Alumni Homecoming Tailgate among other academic college led events.

The alumni association’s annual dinner will be Friday, Oct. 5. The dinner will honor its 2018 recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Awards and the James F. Cole Memorial Award for Service.

“Bringing home our Aggies for a week of celebrating our community and honoring our fellow alumni is certainly one of our most cherished times of the year,” said Leslie Cervantes, associate vice president for alumni relations. “With the help of the Alumni Association’s International Board of Directors, our office of alumni relations and dozens of representatives and students from across NMSU’s colleges, departments and organizations, this will be yet another inspiring and eventful Homecoming celebration.”

The International Board of Directors for the alumni association also confirmed board officers for a second term, including President Tony Martinez ’98, Vice President Scott Sponseller ’98, Secretary and Treasurer Kay Brilliant ’71 and Past President Crystal Lay ’10.
