Tawney steps down as Vice President for University Advancement, Byford named

Andrea Tawney resigned from New Mexico State University, effective today, and informed NMSU that she has accepted a position with Texas Tech University Health Science Center at El Paso. Tawney had served as NMSU’s Vice President for University Advancement and President of the NMSU Foundation since 2016. She had worked at NMSU since 2011.

NMSU has named Tina Byford as Interim Vice President for University Advancement. Byford has served as the chief operating officer for the NMSU Foundation since 2015. Byford has been with NMSU since 1988. She has worked in the university’s business and finance department as well as the NMSU Foundation. In 2007, she became senior investment and chief financial officer of the NMSU Foundation. She was previously served as NMSU’s interim vice president for university advancement in 2013.
