Eight graduating NMSU students honored with prestigious award

The New Mexico State University Alumni Association will honor its spring 2018 Outstanding Graduates with a luncheon Friday, May 11, at the NMSU Stan Fulton Athletic Center.

The recipients are:
William “Chase” Shelton – The College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences
Daniela Barraza – The College of Arts and Sciences
Cailee Nelson – The College of Business
Derek Brown – The College of Education
Grace McMurry – The College of Engineering
Kimberly Anguiano – The College of Health and Social Services
Kayla Myers – Master’s candidate, The Graduate School
Johanna Esquivel – Doctoral candidate, The Graduate School

The Outstanding Graduate Award is presented every semester to a graduating student from each academic college, as well as to a master’s and a doctoral candidate from the graduate school. Honorees are selected by the deans or leaders of their respective colleges or programs and recognized for their exceptional academic achievements, active participation in activities that illustrate leadership skills and extracurricular commitment to the university and the community through volunteerism.

The NMSU Alumni Association’s Outstanding Graduate Award is time-honored tradition at the university and a prestigious distinction for its recipients.
