NMSU to host VEX Robotic Competition Saturday

WHAT: VEX Robotic Competition

WHO: New Mexico elementary, middle and high school students with robots

WHEN: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10

WHERE: New Mexico State University James Delamater Activity Center, corner of
Stewart St. and S. Locust St.

VISUALS: Students will compete using robots they designed and built

About 500 students comprising 67 teams from New Mexico and their robots will find out how their real-world designs will hold up at the New Mexico VEX Robotics State Championship at James Delamater Activity Center at New Mexico State University Saturday, Feb. 10. The event is free and open to all.

Robotic enthusiasts from public and private school programs and after-school clubs will gather to put their unique metallic creations that emerged from identical VEX Robotics kits to the test. Not a single robot is alike among the 67 teams participating in the competition.

New Mexico VEX Robotics connects students, mentors and schools in the community with successful and engaging technology-based programs, with support from the Robotics Education and the New Mexico Engineering Resource Network. Both organizations are committed to promoting engineering and technology focused opportunities to advance professional and technical skills of students.
