NMSU highlighted on list of Top 100 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics

According to the Top 100 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics list in the August 2016 edition of The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education magazine, New Mexico State University has been recognized as one of the best institutions for Hispanics in the country.

Using data from the Department of Education (2014), NMSU ranked in the top 30 in both first major bachelorís degrees granted (26th) and first major masterís degrees granted (21st). NMSU awarded 1,302 bachelorís degrees (48 percent) to Hispanics, and 305 Hispanic students (38 percent) were awarded masterís degrees.

Additionally, NMSU ranked 32nd in undergraduate enrollment for four-year schools with 7,738 Hispanic students (49 percent).

The Top 100 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics article also included lists of the top 10 bachelorís degrees awarded by academic programs. NMSU was ranked ninth in bachelorís degrees in education with 108 of 200 or 54 percent awarded to Hispanics.

This fall, for the fourth time in the last five years, NMSU has been recognized as a top tier university and listed on the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges for 2017 National Universities rankings. U.S. News & World Report also ranked NMSU among its Best Graduate Schools 2017.

For the ninth year, Forbes has recognized NMSU as one of Americaís Top Colleges. NMSU was named to the 2016 Center for World University Rankings list and was named one of the 50 most underrated colleges in America by Business Insider. For the eighth consecutive year, NMSU was named a top military-friendly school by Victory Media.
