The Mesilla Valley Chile Roast will be held Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Alumni and Visitor Center, 775 College Drive on the Las Cruces campus. Chile will be provided by Seco Spice for $19 for a 38-pound bag, and will be roasted by New Mexico Department of Agriculture staff. Mild, medium, hot and extra hot chile will be available. The event will be catered by Andele Restaurante and plates cost $5 per person.

Chile must be ordered by 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, and will not be sold at the event.

The Alumni Association is sponsoring chile roasts across the country this fall in areas with a large concentration of alumni, including Houston, Washington D.C., Nashville, Albuquerque, Phoenix and Colorado.
