New Mexico State University menís rodeo team beat out the competition at Navajo Technical University, a National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association rodeo, April 4-5 in Window Rock, Ariz.
The Aggies took the top spot in six of the nine events, and the menís team beat out the competition by 140 points.
"As we near the end of the season, the rodeo team is dominating in many events, and I am very proud of what they have accomplished,Ē rodeo coach Jim Brown said.
Riders to take first place were Trenton Montero in bareback, Westin Fowler in bull riding, Bailey Bates and Jenna Suazo in breakaway, Tyke Kipp in steer wrestling, Jed Davison in tie-down and Brennon Seely, Sheldon Church, Russell Van Soelen and Hayden Moore for team roping.
The teams took second in breakaway, steer wrestling, tie-down and team roping.
The menís team is undefeated with two final rodeos at home held in the Aggie tailgate lot east of Aggie Memorial Stadium. Performances begin at 5 p.m. Friday, April 25 and 5 p.m. April 26. A top 10 short-go will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 27.
ďI invite everyone to come out to cheer on the team to more championships," Brown said.
